Athletics Overview
Carroll competes in NAIA, which offers athletic scholarships but operates at a smaller scale than Division I programs. With 367 total athletes out of 1,052 students, about 35% of the campus participates in varsity sports. The Fighting Saints field teams in 11 sports and distribute $2.6 million in athletic scholarships annually. The college competes in the Frontier Conference, where they regularly face rivals like Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College. Carroll has built a reputation for competitive football and basketball programs that draw strong local support in Helena. The high participation rate creates a campus culture where athletics play a central role in student life. The NAIA level allows Carroll to maintain competitive programs while keeping the focus on academics and personal development rather than big-time sports entertainment.
