Athletics Overview
Kentucky Christian competes in NAIA athletics, which sits between Division I's high-profile sports culture and Division III's purely recreational approach. The Knights field teams in 15 varsity sports and award $4.26 million in athletic scholarships annually. With 369 total athletes out of 438 students, an impressive 84% of the student body participates in varsity athletics. This creates an intensely sports-focused campus culture where nearly everyone either plays or closely follows the teams. The Knights compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference alongside other small Christian colleges in the region. Basketball traditionally draws the strongest following among students and the local Grayson community. The high participation rate means sports serve as both competitive outlets and major social connectors on this tight-knit campus.
