Sacred Heart Major Seminary Admissions

Sacred Heart Major Seminary has open admission with a 100% acceptance rate, meaning virtually every applicant who meets basic requirements gets in. This doesn't mean admission is automatic though. As a Catholic seminary focused on training men for the priesthood, the school looks for something much more specific than test scores or grades. They want candidates who have already discerned a calling to religious life and received approval from the Archdiocese of Detroit. The small size of 176 students reflects the specialized nature of this institution. The school seeks men who are spiritually mature, academically capable, and committed to serving the Catholic Church as ordained priests.
