Admission Guide

Apply through Southeastern Oklahoma State University's online application system, which accepts applications year-round with rolling admissions. You'll need your high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores, and immunization records. The priority deadline for fall semester is August 1st, but applications continue after this date.

The Aviation program requires additional steps including a flight physical and Federal Aviation Administration medical certificate. Nursing has limited spots and uses a separate application process with prerequisites in science courses. Education majors must pass the Oklahoma General Education Test before student teaching.

Housing applications open in February for the following fall semester. Durant Hall and the University Suites fill quickly, so apply early if you want on-campus housing. All freshmen under 21 with fewer than 30 credit hours must live on campus unless they live with family within 50 miles.

New student orientation happens throughout the summer with mandatory sessions for degree planning and course registration. You'll meet with an academic advisor to select classes based on your intended major. Register for orientation as soon as you're admitted since popular time slots fill up.

The campus sits in Durant, a small town near the Texas border. Most students need cars since public transportation is limited. Parking permits cost extra but spaces are generally available. The Bloomer Sullivan Library stays open late during finals week, and the student union houses dining options and study spaces.

Financial aid applications require the FAFSA, and Oklahoma residents should also complete the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant application. Work-study positions are available but competitive, so apply early through the financial aid office.
