Athletics Overview
The 103 student-athletes at Clovis Community College represent just 1.5% of the 6,759-member student body. As an independent school outside major conference play, the Crusaders compete in eight varsity sports without the structured rivalries or championship pathways that conference membership provides. The athletic program operates without scholarships, focusing on player development and transfer preparation rather than recruitment. Founded in 2007, Clovis lacks the deep sports traditions of older community colleges in the region. The independent status means games are often scheduled against other California community colleges on an individual basis rather than following a set conference schedule. With limited athletic funding reflected in the zero scholarship dollars, the program serves students looking to continue competing while completing their two-year degrees before transferring to four-year universities.
