Is Windward Community College Worth It?

Windward Community College gives you a low-cost entry into higher education, but the earnings on the other side are thin. If you take that path, plan to transfer and finish a bachelor's elsewhere, because the associate alone doesn't pay.

The financial risk here is completion. Since fewer than a third of students graduate, the real danger is paying tuition and taking on debt without walking away with a credential. That turns a cheap school into a bad deal.

The net price tiers work in your favor if your family earns under $48,000, where you pay under $7,000 a year. Above $48,000, the price jumps to roughly $10,400 and keeps climbing, closing much of the affordability gap.
